Maybe this is just my instantaneous mental and emotional state. But it occurs to me that talking about politics in American society today has become both meaningless and pointless. There's just nothing left to say. Everyone's shouting and no one's listening, and the train rolls on. There's no middle ground, no understanding, no point. Everything that's worth saying has been shouted so many times we're hoarse. Any concept of "society" is dead, shouted down as Commie Fascist Terror-Loving Socialism.
I'm just tired of pissing into the wind.

I have to agree. Somewhere in Central America I realized that there is nothing I can do to change anything and I pretty much let it go. This is the most detached I've ever been from my country. I really don't care anymore. I learned that if I need to leave, I can. There are many beautiful places all over the world.
